The Australian Sheep Veterinarians was formed in 1984 to provide a forum for an exchange of ideas, a sharing of knowledge, to develop links with the sheep industry and for continuing education for those veterinarians with an interest in sheep.
Our membership is approx. 300 members. Members comprise veterinarians from private practice, government (both state and federal), research organisations, local government, chemical companies and sheep producers.
In 2005, the group’s name changed from the Australian Sheep Veterinary Society to the Australian Sheep Veterinarians, a special interest group of the Australian Veterinary Association Limited.
